This week we saw Sony, PlayStation Studios alongside a few others provide updates on games that are currently in development or set to release with trailers, release dates and announcements. We saw many big surprises that, had me wishing I had a PlayStation now more than ever. So without further delay let's get right into it:

Gran Turismo 7
First up on the list is for all you racing lovers out there. Gran Turismo is PlayStation’s Forza Motorsport. On March 4th, 2022, it will launch on both PS4 and PS5. The GT Campaign mode is returning as well as a livery editor, Scapes for photos, time and weather simulations and everything else a good racing simulator needs. You can watch the trailer here

God of War: Ragnarök
Set a few years after 2018’s God of War, we got a first look into the new God of War. And what would Ragnarök be without Thor and Freya? The two main antagonists this time around will be our good Norse gods, and Thor’s design has already sparked a lot of conversation over social media. I’m sure we’ll get to see more and more as we get to that 2022 release date.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
Prior to the PS Showcase, we saw countless rumours that Uncharted was coming to PC…except we expected the whole franchise. Instead, we’re getting Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The remastered bundle will come to PS5 and PC in early 2022.

Alan Wake Remastered
Remedy Entertainment’s thriller is getting a remaster. Having never been released on PlayStation consoles, October 5th is set to be a big day for Remedy. With 4K graphics, all the DLC and updated environments, the remaster sets to be a promising release for PS4 and PS5 players who never played the original game.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine
Insomniac Games gave us 2 reveal trailers. Spider-Man 2 was expected, coming in 2023 exclusively to PS5, continuing the story of Miles and Peter with Venom as the villain. We also saw a very cheeky reveal for Wolverine. I wasn’t expecting this one and as soon as I saw the claws, I screamed. A Wolverine game. It will be standalone from the Spider-Man games and I can’t wait to see more information about this as the release comes closer.

Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Remake
And now my personal favourite for last. I’m not one of those who played KOTOR when it first came out. In all honesty, I only played it last year. It’s one of my personal favourite games. Being remade from the ground up, Aspyr media (who are very familiar with Star Wars games) promise this to please new and old fans alike. Seeing Revan pop up after thinking we were getting Fallen Order 2 made me go crazy and instantly tweeted my excitement. It will be a launch exclusive to PS5 and will eventually come to other platforms.

And so comes an end to the big features and announcements of the PS Showcase…and I really want a PS5, if only they were in stock.
