The legendary cult classic Alan Wake from the Xbox 360 era is returning in 2021 for a remastered and horror filled adventure from the twisted writers mind once again.
Alan Wake remastered is set to release on October 5th 2021 with a lot of visual, performance and gameplay improvements coming with it. The classic released back in May 2010 for the Xbox 360, developed by Remedy entertainment the developers behind the now popular game Control.
Alan Wake and Control both inhabit the same universe as we know now thanks to the recent ''AWE'' DLC expansion for Control, meaning a remaster makes more sense than ever given Remedy's expanding creepy and mind blowing world of the supernatural.
Remedy promises the following in its remaster...
- Richer environmental details
- Enhanced character models
- The Signal & The Writer DLCs
- New audio commentary by Sam Lake himself - Xbox Smart Delivery
- DualSense haptics for PS5
- 60FPS
- 4K Support
Alan Wake Remastered will be the first time our famous writer friend comes to the PlayStation platform, meaning trophy support and seeing its beauty on the PS5 system. However it will be coming to a host of other platforms too such as Xbox and PC. |Remedy have mentioned Bright Falls will have a new coat of paint, as will the characters and their animations but the story will remain the same, this is not a remake after all, just a technical improvement to the original in the form a remaster.
This is all falls in line with rumours of a direct sequel to the original 2010 game which would make total sense given this remasters existence, it did gain a cult following as one of the best supernatural/horror games of the 360 era. So lets hope this sells well, it will be available very soon for the price of £25 or $30 depending on you're region. We cant wait to step back into the shadows ourselves!
